KITCHEN WORKTOPS ISLINGTON

Bespoke granite, quartz and porcelain across N1, N5 and N7

Planning a kitchen renovation in Islington? We design, fabricate and install bespoke stone worktops for homes across N1, N5 and N7, from the Georgian and Victorian townhouses around Upper Street and Canonbury to the family homes of Highbury, Barnsbury and De Beauvoir Town.

An Islington kitchen deserves a worktop to match.

Islington is one of the most consistently considered kitchen markets we work in. The housing stock is dominated by Georgian and Victorian townhouses (a high proportion listed or in conservation areas) running through Canonbury, Barnsbury, De Beauvoir and Highbury, with Edwardian and 1930s mansion blocks across N5 and the Holloway Road edge of N7. The brief here is almost always a sympathetic update with a clear design-led approach, often involving an architect.

Our workshop is based in Nazeing, around 17 miles north of Islington via the A10. We run the route regularly for templating and one-day installation across N1, N5 and N7, with ULEZ-compliant delivery and a team experienced in working with the access constraints typical of central-London townhouse renovations. Our recent Artemistone Carrara Nuvo installation on an Islington townhouse, featured below, is a good example of the kind of work we do here.

Whether you’re working with an Islington kitchen designer, an architect running a side-return or rear extension, or you’re sourcing the worktop yourself, we’re happy to come out for a free, no-obligation template and quote.

Worktops we install across Islington

Most Islington kitchens we work on land somewhere in the quartz, granite or porcelain family. The choice usually comes down to look, feel and how the space is used day to day.

Quartz worktops are by far the most popular choice in Islington. Hard-wearing, almost zero maintenance and available in everything from clean Carrara whites to dramatic veined slabs. Our Artemistone range covers the marble-effect options most homeowners are drawn to, with the Carrara Nuvo installation featured below a popular pick for the Islington townhouse market.

Granite worktops are a natural stone with proper character. Ideal if you want depth, movement and the kind of detail no two slabs share. A particularly strong choice for the listed and conservation-area Georgian and Victorian townhouses across Canonbury, Barnsbury and Highbury, where natural stone reads as appropriate to the period.

Porcelain and sintered stone are increasingly popular for Islington side-return and rear extensions. Lightweight (which matters in upper-floor flats), full-body and suitable for outdoor kitchens too. We’ve also fabricated porcelain in slimmer profiles for Islington projects where weight loading on existing floor structures or listed-building stipulations were a real constraint.

Across our Islington work we hold a comprehensive sample library and are happy to bring colours and finishes out to your home so you can see them against your cabinetry, flooring and lighting before you commit. For listed and conservation-area projects we’re also happy to liaise directly with your architect or planner where useful.

Recent Islington project: Artemistone Carrara Nuvo

One of our recent Islington installations was finished in Artemistone Carrara Nuvo Quartz on an N1 townhouse renovation. A clean, bright white with soft, slightly blue-grey veining that reads as a step quieter than classic Carrara, particularly well suited to the cool north-light typical of London terraces.

Carrara Nuvo is a popular choice in the Islington townhouse market where the brief is usually a sympathetic update rather than a wholesale modernisation. It pairs particularly well with shaker cabinetry in pale greens, off-whites and muted greys, all common in the listed and conservation-area properties of N1 and N5.

Islington worktop FAQs

Which Islington postcodes do you cover?

We cover all of N1, N5 and N7 including Upper Street, Angel, Canonbury, Barnsbury, Highbury, De Beauvoir Town, Holloway and the King’s Cross / Caledonian Road edge. We also work right across the wider North London area.

Do you work on listed and conservation-area properties?

Yes. Islington has one of the highest concentrations of listed and conservation-area properties of any London borough we cover, particularly across Canonbury, Barnsbury and around Duncan Terrace. For listed buildings we tend to recommend honed-finish quartz or natural granite, and we’ll liaise with your architect or planner where useful to confirm material specifications.

How do you handle parking, ULEZ and access constraints?

We plan for them. Our delivery vehicle is ULEZ-compliant, we’ll arrange resident-parking permits where the council scheme allows, and we’ll discuss access constraints (narrow side returns, stair access in conversion flats) on the templating visit before any cutting starts. None of it changes the price or the one-day fit.

How long does the process take from quote to installed worktop?

Once we’ve templated your kitchen (usually around two weeks after your cabinetry is in place), fabrication takes 7 to 10 working days. The installation itself is completed in a single day.

Do you offer free quotes in Islington?

Yes. We provide free, no-obligation quotes for any worktop project in Islington. You can submit measurements and your stone choice through our online quote form, or arrange a home visit if you’d prefer to discuss options in person.

What guarantee do you offer?

All our worktops come with a 10-year guarantee. We’re Checkatrade-approved with hundreds of completed projects across London, Essex and Hertfordshire.
